Milk allergy is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system to milk and products containing milk. Cow’s milk is the usual cause of milk allergy, but milk from sheep, goats and buffalo also can cause a reaction. A milk allergy usually occurs minutes to hours after consuming milk. Signs and symptoms of milk allergy range from mild to severe and can include wheezing, vomiting, hives and digestive problems. Some people who are allergic to cow’s milk are allergic to soy milk, too. Milk allergy is one of the most common food allergies in children. The Cow Milk Allergy template has been carefully developed to not include ingredients containing the presence of milk protein. All food labels should be read carefully before consuming a product, even if it has been used safely in the past.

Disclaimer: Even though foods contained in these templates are at present milk free, the user still needs to read ALL food labels for possible milk containing ingredients. Manufacturers continually make changes to ingredients and/or production methods without notice.
