    I had been looking everywhere for a place that would help me transform. I was ready. I was at my heaviest weight, my blood pressure was the highest it had ever been, I had constant body aches and fatigue, and often felt depressed. With a family history of high blood pressure and heart disease I knew it was time to get serious about my health, and I knew I couldn’t do it alone.

    I noticed a friend of mine was regularly going to Iron Fit, and she was getting toned and fit. So, I looked into it. I looked at Iron Fit’s website and Facebook page. I saw the results of Erik’s 12 Week Transformation Challenge and was truly inspired. I went in to try the 3 free classes Erik offers, and I was hooked. His classes are fun, challenging, never repetitive, and your only competition is you. I drive 20 miles one way to go to Iron Fit because there is nothing else like it.

    It’s been less than 7 months since I started at Iron Fit and I am down more than 20lbs and a ton of inches. I have gone from a size 12/14 to now size 8’s feeling loose on me, and my blood pressure is back in the normal range.

    Erik helped me achieve a transformation, which was exactly what I was looking for.

    I was inspired and encouraged to join Iron Fit by my wife, Mona. I had become the classic couch potato since I stopped playing team sports. I would occasionally train for a half or full marathon and quickly return to the couch after the event. My health had deteriorated to the point where my wellness checkup results showed that I was pre-diabetic with high cholesterol. As a result of 23 years of relative inactivity and weight gain I was dealing with neck, hip, and back pain which was intolerable.

    I joined Iron Fit less than a year ago. I liked it on Facebook and followed it when they posted new transformations and success stories. I wanted something different. I was part of the CrossFit scene and enjoyed it. After having issues with my shoulders, I knew I needed less of the competitive olympic lifting and programming. I was looking for a program that could help me change my body. I did the three day trial and truly enjoyed the programing. There’s really nothing out there like it. You get both strength training and cardio but in a structured format.

    I was anticipating a 12 week challenge that started in September. After seeing all the before and photos from the last challenge, I committed. Erik had a class just on proper eating and nutrition before the challenge started. I never had anyone sit down with me and explain the basics of nutrition. Erik sat us down and told us the different ways to be successful. He personalized it based on our goals.

    In 12 weeks I lost a total of 35 pounds and a ton of inches. My shoulder feels great. My endurance is ten times what it was when I did CrossFit. This is something I can do for a long time. I am truly happy to be part of the Iron Fit Family.

    I have never been a very fit person throughout my life. I lived a very sedentary lifestyle, and my diet was not good at all. I decided it was time for a change, and a few years ago I began to exercise routinely. My diet changed for the better. I began to lose weight, and I felt great. I stopped exercising one day, and that day led to another, and days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months. Two years later, I had gained over 50 pounds.     In 2006, I lost a son, Josh (drunk driver took his life); he was only 16 years old. The pain of losing Josh drove me into a very deep, but well hidden, depression.
