About Dr. Lovato

A qualified professional, Dr. Zachary Lovato achieved his medical education from Oklahoma State University in 2012. After medical school, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, followed by an adult deformity and spinal reconstructive surgery fellowship at Sonoran Spine Center in Tempe, Arizona. Since 2018, he has catered to the community of El Paso.

Dr. Lovato is a mindful and attentive orthopedic surgeon who spends time with his patients to explain their conditions. He provides comprehensive and holistic medical care to enhance the overall health of his patients. He approaches patient care with compassion and positivity. Dr. Lovato brings extensive experience to his role at The Spine Institute of El Paso, where he manages a wide array of spinal conditions. He believes in fostering a healthy physician-patient relationship that facilitates assurance and respect. He integrates his clinical expertise with advancements in medicine and technology to ensure patient safety and recovery.

About Jose Santiago Esquivel

Jose Santiago Esquivel AGACNP-BC, was born and raised in our rich binational community. He attended school in both sister cities of Juarez and El Paso. Santiago, as we have come to know him quickly developed a strong inclination to science and math during his formative years. In college, his field of study focused on the biological sciences, and obtained his 1st degree in Microbiology with minor in Chemistry from University of Texas El Paso in 1998.

Santiago’s professional career began in the Forensic Sciences as a Medical Examiner Investigator for El Paso County in early 2000s. After more than ten years of service to our community, Santiago aspired to grow professionally in the medical field, particularly in patient care. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and began his career in emergency medicine, surgical services, and Post Anesthesia Care. During this time, Dr. Lovato and Santiago interacted professionally for the first time and coordinated quality patient care. Santiago further cross-trained in intensive care and neurological intensive care units. He quickly realized, to better serve his community, he needed to become a provider. He obtained his Master of Science in Nursing with specialty in critical care and gerontology. In the interim, Santiago has made a major contribution to the El Paso region by becoming an LVN and BSN instructor directly guiding the next generation of nurses.

With his experience, fluent in English and Spanish Santiago brings empathy, assertiveness and familiarity to The Spine Institute of El Paso. Santiago has once again joined forces with Dr. Lovato to serve the adult and geriatric populations of El Paso. He is committed and determined to provide high quality patient care to our ever-growing community.
