A New Braunfels personal trainer can help you shape up and lose weight. They create a program of exercise for each person, based on that person’s overall level of fitness. Before you begin with a personal trainer he or she identifies your level of fitness learns of any special needs and finds out what your goals are. Not everyone is the same when it comes to fitness or goals. Some people want to shed pounds, while others want to build their strength and energy.
You’ll have a program designed just for you that will always be challenging.
Trainers make the programs challenging so you always work toward your maximum potential. The trainer tracks your progress. Before you know it, the work out wll get easier and easier. When it does, the trainer then adjusts the workout to reflect your new level of fitness. That way you’re always working toward maximum potential.
Personal trainers not only show you how to do an exercise, they watch to ensure that you do it correctly.
Working out is more than just moving until you sweat, although any kind of exercising is good. Form counts in a workout. Like any physical task, you want to ensure that you move correctly so you don’t sprain or strain a muscle. Trainers make sure your form is correct and that maximizes the benefit of the exercise, while also minimizing the potential for injury.
Trainers provide a great deal of motivation.
Sometimes all you need is to be held accountable for showing up and exercising. Knowing you’re meeting with a personal trainer certainly does that. Sometimes, you need to believe in yourself and that you really can lose weight or get into shape. Trainers believe in you and their ability to help you achieve your goals, until you see results and can do it without their help. Trainers know how tough sticking to a program can be at first, so they have empathy and provide encouragement.
Personal trainers adjust the workout for people with special needs, such as a health issue that might require modifying the form of the workout.
You’ll get so much more from a program of regular exercise than just a toned body and weight loss. Your energy level will soar and you’ll get more energy than you ever thought possible.
Exercise improves your posture so you’ll look taller and thinner, while having more presence. You’ll not only look more confident, you’ll feel more confident too.
You’ll get quicker results from working with a personal trainer and results are a huge motivator.
Before I came to Iron fit my life was much different. I was tired all the time, I suffered from constant back and body pains, and basically had no energy for anything. All I wanted to do was stay in bed. I have always been overweight but in the last few years I really let things get out of control. By the end of October 2015 I was over 250 pounds and I was miserable. I had been wanting to start an exercise program when I came across the iron fit post on Facebook promoting the three days free. I thought “what do I have to lose? It’s 3 days and it’s free!” So the first week of November I gave it a shot. …
I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids and I had let myself go in a way that I never I thought I would. I was sacrificing every part of me for my family, but was actually cutting all of us short of the mom and wife I could be if I was happy with myself. I was depressed and hated looking in the mirror at what I had allowed myself to do to my body. I never made time to take care of myself because I felt like there just wasn’t enough time in my day to take care of all of them AND myself. One of my dearest friends, Christy Chapman Massie asked me to come with her to Iron Fit, which was a huge deal because my husband and I are actually part owners in a CrossFit gym here in San Antonio. …
First, need to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Erik Guerra for all the support, guidance and knowledge he has passed on to me over the past few years.
Joining Iron Fit is one of the best investments I have ever made towards my health. Before Iron Fit, I knew very little about exercising, minimal experience in any gym, poor lifting techniques and my nutritional intake was not the greatest. I was ready for a change but was nervous about joining a new gym. Glad I decided to step inside Iron Fit and give it a shot. Amazing just how impactful a gym like Iron Fit can have on someone’s life. …
Before training at Iron Fit Circuit Training I was working out at Gold’s Gym doing my own workouts. I was always into fitness and running but just tried doing it on my own. Years ago I even hired a trainer to help me figure out what workouts would work for my body. But I just wasn’t seeing the results I wanted . I needed something more and started searching.
I was on Groupon one day and saw iron fit gym being advertised so I looked at the description of the gym and figure “hey why not give it a try for 30 days to see how I like it”. After those 30 days were up, I wanted more. I decided to sign up to keep these workouts consistently going. …
I had been working out on my own for 12 years, thought I was eating OK, and was resigned that my body was ‘stuck’, and would never change that much.
Wow, was I wrong! My husband and I had recently moved to Stone Oak, and he accidentally stumbled upon an Iron Fit class just finishing up. He noticed the smiles and sweat, family-like atmosphere and was introduced to Erik by the class. We came back later in the day, and Erik patiently answered all of our questions and invited me to try Iron Fit Circuit Training for 3 days. Erik worked with me, and suggested alternate exercises as my body adjusted to the Iron Fit training and intensity. …
At 57 yrs. old and almost 300 lbs, I thought my best fitness days were well behind me.
I had always been in decent shape. A multi-sport letterman in college, I played competitive volleyball until my mid-40’s, worked out with weights, and never really thought too much about my diet. About 10 years ago I ripped both rotator cuffs – within 1.5 years of each other – and transitioned from a very active to a sedentary lifestyle. As the years progressed, I found myself taking medication to control high blood pressure and cholesterol, had no energy, and often wondered how the heck I ended up ‘like this’.
I was the poster child for metabolic syndrome, on a direct collision course with a heart attack or stroke. …
I had been looking everywhere for a place that would help me transform. I was ready. I was at my heaviest weight, my blood pressure was the highest it had ever been, I had constant body aches and fatigue, and often felt depressed. With a family history of high blood pressure and heart disease I knew it was time to get serious about my health, and I knew I couldn’t do it alone.
I noticed a friend of mine was regularly going to Iron Fit, and she was getting toned and fit. So, I looked into it. I looked at Iron Fit’s website and Facebook page. I saw the results of Erik’s 12 Week Transformation Challenge and was truly inspired. I went in to try the 3 free classes Erik offers, and I was hooked. His classes are fun, challenging, never repetitive, and your only competition is you. I drive 20 miles one way to go to Iron Fit because there is nothing else like it.
It’s been less than 7 months since I started at Iron Fit and I am down more than 20lbs and a ton of inches. I have gone from a size 12/14 to now size 8’s feeling loose on me, and my blood pressure is back in the normal range.
Erik helped me achieve a transformation, which was exactly what I was looking for.
I joined Iron Fit less than a year ago. I liked it on Facebook and followed it when they posted new transformations and success stories. I wanted something different. I was part of the CrossFit scene and enjoyed it. After having issues with my shoulders, I knew I needed less of the competitive olympic lifting and programming. I was looking for a program that could help me change my body. I did the three day trial and truly enjoyed the programing. There’s really nothing out there like it. You get both strength training and cardio but in a structured format.
I was anticipating a 12 week challenge that started in September. After seeing all the before and photos from the last challenge, I committed. Erik had a class just on proper eating and nutrition before the challenge started. I never had anyone sit down with me and explain the basics of nutrition. Erik sat us down and told us the different ways to be successful. He personalized it based on our goals.
In 12 weeks I lost a total of 35 pounds and a ton of inches. My shoulder feels great. My endurance is ten times what it was when I did CrossFit. This is something I can do for a long time. I am truly happy to be part of the Iron Fit Family.
I had never really considered myself to be overweight; after all, I am 5’7” and maintained an average weight of 161 pounds. I had always been active and physically capable of doing day to day activities. I had ran 5K’s, completed numerous Obstacle Course Races and had even ran a full marathon!
I felt with all I had done, I was on track and doing everything right……but in reality, I was fooling myself.
My turning point came in December of 2015, when I watched my mother struggle through recovery after heart surgery. …
My name is Jerry Gonzalez and I’m 60 years old. I started running about 6 years ago and trained for the 2015 San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon. I was hooked on running and became a Marathon Maniac by completing 3 marathons in 90 days; all within one year of starting my running career! I was so enthused with this new “hobby” that I took up trail running and eventually trained and completed a 50 mile trail run in 13 hours.
I found a few local running groups while I was training for races and made a lot of new friends. We would have social runs about twice a week and would normally eat and drink afterwards. …
In 2006, I lost a son, Josh (drunk driver took his life); he was only 16 years old. The pain of losing Josh drove me into a very deep, but well hidden, depression. Before losing Josh, I was very healthy, extremely physical, and truly enjoyed MMA as my form of “exercise.” After losing Josh, I became a “workaholic” and stopped any/all physical activity; food became a comfort for me. I was outwardly being very strong — “going on in life,” but inwardly, I wanted to give up! Over the next few years, I had gained more than 100 lbs.! After going through a very hard and difficult grieving process, I looked in the mirror and was truly ashamed of what I allowed for myself; I made a decision that it was time to get “back in shape” – both mentally and physically (so, the journey began). …
I have never been a very fit person throughout my life. I lived a very sedentary lifestyle, and my diet was not good at all. I decided it was time for a change, and a few years ago I began to exercise routinely. My diet changed for the better. I began to lose weight, and I felt great. I stopped exercising one day, and that day led to another, and days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months. Two years later, I had gained over 50 pounds. I was back to my old sedentary lifestyle with unhealthy eating habits.
Every now and then I would tell myself “Ok, tomorrow I’m going to start again”, but I never did. It got to the point where I was not comfortable with myself, and I felt so insecure. I was horribly overweight. I had to buy clothes at “big and tall” sections. I wasn’t getting any younger, and the more I waited, the more weight I gained. I realized it would eventually become harder for me to lose weight and become a healthy adult, so I decided to find an exercise program and stick to it this time. …
I had been working out at home with DVDs and weights but I would get bored and start slacking. Then I would plateau and become discouraged. Once I joined Iron Fit at the recommendation of one of my best friends, I began liking working out again. With Erik’s nutrition plan as a guide I was able to lose 20 lbs. in the first 3 months! I am leaner and more toned than I have been in years. I look forward to working out again. I enjoy the changing workouts so I don’t get bored and I love the people at the gym. I haven’t met my fitness goals yet, but I am well on my way thanks to Erik & Iron Fit
I was asked by a friend to join her at her gym for a free trial and was a bit skeptical, but joined her anyway. I’m so glad I did. I would go to a regular gym before that and would always leave unsatisfied and felt I had accomplished nothing. I didn’t know how to work different muscles and I stayed stagnant for longer than I should have, I know I needed change and that’s when I joined Iron Fit. …
Iron Fit Circuit Training is the Best Gym in San Antonio. Nothing else compares! I lost over 22 lbs. in just 3 months! If you’re looking to transform your body then Iron Fit is the perfect place for you! Erik will be with you every step of the way.
Hello my name is Alissa H. This is my life this is my journey. Ever since I became a mother of two beautiful daughters, I have struggled with my weight. The idea of being 118 again has quickly faded. The scale was once a true enemy who controlled my mood and happiness.
For the last 15 years, I have tried to be active and fit! However, looking back on my attempts I realized they were without guidance and direction. Hiring trainers, many gym membership with no true results. Yes, I would lose weight but yo-yo back and forth.
Then I met Erik G. owner and operator of Iron Fit Circuit Training. I joined in November.
Iron Fit Circuit Training is home away from home. Best decision I made in my life. Believe me I was skeptical at first but after a few sessions I was hooked. I fell off the exercise wagon for a few years. I was overweight, overstressed and had no energy – I was in a rut. I knew I had to do something, knowing heart disease ran in my family. One day I noticed a gym being setup next to a restaurant that I frequented. At first I thought just another gym that will come and go – but months later as I kept going to this restaurant, I noticed, this guy may have something here.
I had heard about gyms like this – which were a bit intimidating for me but I finally worked up the courage to go in. After talking to owner and trainer Erik Guerra, I knew I had to join. His genuine sincerity and knowledge of fitness convinced me to join. He definitely walks the talk! Now all I can say is WOW and OMG! Iron fit is absolutely an amazing place. Erik helped me set a goal to lose weight and inches plus increase strength and muscle. I lost 24 lbs. and went from a 34 waist to a 30. I was transformed. Erik has a proven formula, I was amazed!
I love how Erik focuses on the basics of technique to build a great foundation. Now that I shed most of the fat, I’m starting to see muscle. I look and feel great. I have lots of energy and endurance. Iron Fit changed my life. If I can do it at age 57 – anyone can. Erik – Thank You for your knowledge, motivation and encouragement. You’ve created this incredible environment full of positive energy. Love my extended Iron Fit family!
My name is Courtney, I am a 27 year old RN. I came across Iron Fit a few times on Facebook back in the summer of 2014. I was a standard gym girl at Gold’s Gym, would go a few times, so about 30min to an hour and do random things. I even did Krav Maga and outdoor boot camps while in nursing school so when I went to a standard gym, it was just boring. I always loved to be active and fit. But I loved to eat junk food and party with friends also. Well, the day of my 26th birthday in October 2014, I got home from work expecting several phone calls from family. Instead, I got the most heartbreaking phone call of my life from my mother. One of my younger brothers had died in a very horrific way. I was heartbroken. I finally decided to email Erik at the end of that month. …
In May 2015, my husband and I moved from Pittsburgh, PA to San Antonio, TX. It was a tough move on me because I’d lived in Pittsburgh my entire life and moving meant leaving behind all of my family and friends. In Pittsburgh, I was active playing soccer on a few teams and going to TRX and kettlebell classes at my local gym however, in October 2014, I had suffered a severe concussion playing soccer. I was limited on exercise for 4 months while I recovered.
During that time we learned that we would be moving to San Antonio – I was out of shape already from not being able to exercise and I was stressed/emotional over the big move. …
I have been a member of Iron Fit Circuit Training since July 2014. Prior to joining, I’d spent over 30 years working out in big clubs during prime time. It became increasingly difficult to get a good workout in a jam packed gym. I spent an average of 2.5 hours a day in the gym and walked out feeling like I’d accomplished nothing which was both frustrating and discouraging.
Iron Fit was recommended to me by a friend. I was definitely ready for something new. I hoped to find a way to become motivated again. I needed a program without all the guess work. I decided it was time to give Iron Fit a try during a free trial offer. …
I have always struggled with my weight (who hasn’t right?) I was a chubby kid starting at around the second grade and it stuck. But aside from that I have always struggled with my body image, which I’ve discovered plays a huge role in how I’ve managed my weight. No one ever taught me to love my body the way it was or for what it was. So I chased the “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” motto from about the time I turned 12 and hit middle school to about late 2012. I must’ve done and tried everything under the sun: Fad diets, diet pills to basically starving myself. …
Long before I thought about joining Iron Fit Circuit Training, I had always been a bit skeptical of circuit training, HIIT Classes, or Crossfit. It was a scary thought because I was out of shape and self-conscious about my weight at 296 lbs. Life was sluggish to say the least. Being overweight, I had knee pain, foot pain, back pain, etc. With all of my physical issues, I didn’t think I could keep up with the rest of the class so I just avoided it.
After numerous discussions, a close friend and longtime Iron Fit member finally persuaded me to give it a try. In November of 2015, I went to my first class. I was immediately welcomed into the Iron Fit family by the members and by the owner Erik Guerra. Erik worked with me individually and made sure that my form was correct and that I stayed focused for my entire workout. He made sure that I would feel successful. I continue to feel successful to this day, even with a dramatic increase in the level of my athleticism. Erik continues to push me to higher levels on a daily basis. I am officially addicted to his program. I couldn’t have been as successful without Erik’s support. His tenacity makes me want to come back day in and day out. In these past five months, I have lost a total of 43 pounds. I feel absolutely fantastic! My only regret is that I didn’t join Iron Fit sooner.
I could not be happier!!! I have worked with Erik for almost 2 years. Erik is a true inspiration. He believes in giving you the tools to help you succeed and motivates every single person in his class. It does not matter if you are working out for the first time or been dedicated for years. Erik customizes a workout for all by increasing weights for some and decreasing it for other. When I started at Iron Fit, I could not get rid of my last 10lbs of baby weight and my son was 2 years old. With Erik giving me the nutritional tools I needed and really showed me how to get the most out of my workouts I was able to lose 14 lbs. in 12 weeks. As long as I live in San Antonio, I will never go to another gym. I am Iron Fit for life.
I was inspired and encouraged to join Iron Fit by my wife, Mona. I had become the classic couch potato since I stopped playing team sports. I would occasionally train for a half or full marathon and quickly return to the couch after the event. My health had deteriorated to the point where my wellness checkup results showed that I was pre-diabetic with high cholesterol. As a result of 23 years of relative inactivity and weight gain I was dealing with neck, hip, and back pain which was intolerable.
I joined Iron Fit in March of 2016 and was slow going at first to get myself in the habit of concentrating on my health and fitness. I was not as committed and continued to struggle with schedules and EXCUSES. In September, Erik started a fitness challenge. I love challenges. I went to the meeting and was pumped and ready to start. Erik talked about eating habits and changing bad habits. He reviewed the importance of exercise and not just showing up and going through the motions – but having correct form and doing each exercise correctly. …
Before joining Iron Fit, I had not been exercising for about a year and feeling a lack of energy and generally down about my appearance. My wife suggested going with her to Iron Fit Circuit Training and I was very skeptical at first because my time is precious and group exercise classes that I had attended in the past were not very challenging. I was in the class for maybe a week before we started the 12 week challenge. That got my attention.
From my past, I knew how to work out but I did not know how to control my diet to be healthy and control my weight. Erik helped educate my wife and I on what ratios of protein, fat and carbs we should have at each meal. This completely changed the way I viewed eating and I committed to the program. I find the workouts at Iron Fit to be intense, tough, and challenging and push myself harder than I would on my own.
The Iron Fit family is supportive and highly motivating, which helped drive me to lose 34 pounds in 12 weeks. Eating healthy and regular exercise is now a lifestyle for me and I would not have done it without the 12 week challenge at Iron Fit. I find myself more energetic and productive in my daily life. Thanks Iron Fit for the education, comradery, and great experience.
I’ve trained with Erik for almost 5 years now. I’ve followed him from gym to gym and when he finally took the plunge and opened up Iron Fit Circuit Training at Stone Oak, I immediately joined! Erik’s always been a great trainer, but since venturing out with his own gym and being able to utilize his own methodology of instruction, I have seen fantastic results!
Before Iron Fit, I trained on a pretty regular basis but never ever really took it to that next level. With Erik, I’ve been able to do just that! I began training 5-6 days a week, always setting a goal to achieve whether it be participation in an obstacle course race or some other event, I found it becoming easy to push myself with Erik’s guidance! …
