Nutritionist Louisville KY

While a nutritionist in Louisville KY is not a substitute for good medical care, he or she can help prevent the need for doctor visits due to illness by helping you keep your body its healthiest. When you’re getting all the essential nutrition you need, your body fights illness and conditions that are often caused by inactivity and an unhealthy diet. Poor nutrition contributes to many illnesses, such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and even osteoporosis. It also causes other risk factors that can send you to the doctor if left unchecked.

Obesity is the leading cause of preventable deaths.

Obesity is an epidemic. People are often under pressure, working two or three jobs and grab fast food on the run. Fast food, junk food and inactivity all lead to weight gain and the health problems that come from being overweight and out of shape. Whether you call it a soft drink, pop or soda, these drinks add to the epidemic. Super sizing meals—if you want to call them that—has become the norm. Americans no longer understand what a normal portion looks like thanks to these changes. All-you-can-eat buffets, junk food for sale everywhere, from the office vending machine to the gas station counter and highly processed foods all lead to extra calories and less nutrition.

Stress can cause overeating and eating unhealthy.

Eating unhealthy and overeating can also lead to stress. It’s a vicious cycle that will continue until you learn ways to break it. You can start by educating yourself in healthy eating habits and adding regular exercise to your fitness program. One study actually showed that if stress was bad enough, even if you exercised and ate healthy, it could cause changes in the body that made it harder to lose weight. However, you can prevent those changes by burning off the hormones of stress with exercise, reducing it with a healthy diet and learning to relax and take life one day at a time. You can reverse the damage.

Eating healthy goes hand-in-hand with exercise to take off weight.

It’s never too late to start. While you won’t erase years of damage in a few weeks, you can strive to get healthier with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Food is highly addictive, particularly sugary products. It’s been known to be a trigger that stimulates the pleasure area in the brain. Many people find it difficult to change their dietary habits, but once they do, they lose the cravings for sugar and fatty foods.

– Food has been used as a reward or bribe for good behaviour. Think about it, has any parent ever said, “Eat your dessert and then you can have some broccoli” or “This calls for a celebration, let’s have a big serving of fresh veggies.”

– The food industry aggressively markets to both children and adults, showing tantalizing burgers, unhealthy foods targeted to children and misleading information that makes you think some foods are healthy.

– Nutritionists can help you sort out all the misleading information and establish a healthy diet. A nutritionist can show you how to make food substitutions to improve nutrition and reduce calories.

– Some personal trainers are also nutritionists, so you get help with exercise and diet.

“My birthday present was 1 month of personal training!”

After turning 30, I decided to give myself 1 month of personal training as a birthday present. Weights and gyms were out of my comfort zone and after reading every Men’s Health article I was more confused on what to do! I started with 3 sessions a week , followed instructions on what to do and eat on off days. I am now 40 getting close to
40, more fit, leaner, and more confident. And I still workout with Jeff!! Best thing I ever did for myself!

“I’ve lost a total of 30 lbs and even lost all the fat dimples on my derrière and legs!”
The truth was and I say (was) getting fat, fat, fat… I’m 38 years old and I was not happy with the direction my body was heading. At 179 lbs I had known for quite sometime I needed to do something about my weight. I always had some type of excuse, I work 40 hours a week, I have children, I cook, clean; I’m busy or just plain exhausted, ect..ect.. Excuse after excuse. There was a bunch of things that I wanted to do but my health and physic had already limited my activities. Example, I wanted to spend all day at the Water Park with the children, run around and play. Instead I basked in the sun pretending the chaffing on my legs didn’t hurt from just the walk in the park. My bathing suites were cute (as can be expected) but it was the beach towel that I wore over my suite that became my new style of swimwear. I was completely ashamed of my body so I just covered it up.
On October 1st 2010 it hit me, I was finally sick and tired of being sick and tired of the way I looked. I knew I needed help. So I started to do a search for a personal trainer. I set myself up an appointment with Jeff and we decided to do 3 days a week for 8 weeks, otherwise known as “Boot Camp”. I will tell you especially in the beginning if I didn’t have Jeff as a trainer, motivator, educator I could have not done and I say (done) this alone. The first day (1 hour) I was crawling on the floor, hugging gym equipment. I was so out of shape that I completely embarrassed myself or so I thought. Jeff and I evaluated my diet, set caloric goals and at home cardio. If Jeff didn’t push me to complete my repetitions in our sessions I know I would have never accomplished this type of effort on my own, no way, No Way..!!
February 4, 2011, thirteen days away from my 39th birthday, And I weigh 149 lbs!! I’ve lost a total of 30 lbs. I’ve gained muscle, I wear a size 8 pant I use to be a 14. I’ve even lost all the fat dimples on my derrière and legs “Bye Bye Cellulite  …and …..Look out Water Park ”… and I’ll leave the towel in the car!

“Jeff has been a huge supporter, motivator and encourager!”

I have worked with Jeff for  over 5 years. He has been a huge supporter, motivator and encourager to my physical and emotional well being. I have always been in shape but since working out with Jeff my body has changed and I’ve become stronger and more physically fit. Even after major surgery, I was able to bounce back and quickly pick up where I left off. I don’t know what I would do without Jeff in my life.
