3 Vital Female Measurements to Track Every 4-6 Weeks (It’s NOT Weight)
Due to societal pressure and media-fueled insecurities – “almost” every woman is concerned with her ‘weight’. And 9 times out of 10, it’s for superficial reasons… vanity. And that’s part of where the root of the problem lies…
The other part of the problem is that when focusing on weight – women (and many men too) are not paying attention to the true vital measurements that are even more important, and can have a direct & positive impact on weight, when the right actions for those “other” vitals are taken…
Here Are The 3 Vital Female Measurements to Track Every 4-6 Weeks
1 – Body Composition
When you don’t exercise properly you lose muscle density, and body-fat typically increases (no surprise right?).
This creates a higher-risk body-composition, where the percentage of body-fat increases relative to all other lean mass tissue. Higher body-comps correlate directly to higher incidence of premature aging, disease and death.
Tracking body-composition over time, allows for us to stay in tune with what is going on inside us. And we can guide actions and goals according to our aims for body-composition & health levels. Ignoring it is the gateway for allowing it to get worse and worse with each passing month.
2 – Waist and Hip Circumference
Like body composition, increases in waist and hip circumferences often signify increasing internal health risks, such as heart disease, fatty liver disease, diabetes, etc…
By tracking waist and hip circumference on a regular basis we can make sure our fitness and nutrition habits are keeping us in the zones we desire for optimum health, wellness and longevity.
3 – Subjective Grades of Energy, Mood and Abilities
While not exactly quantitatively measurable, these types of stats allow us to track parameters that give an indication of our quality of life. For example, in our Studio FIT-Q assessments, Coach Kaci will often record open ended feedback from our clients’ on overall energy levels, sleep quality, activities (gardening, hiking, work productivity, intimacy, chasing grandkids, etc…)
Seeing the increase in activity levels, more enjoyment, better sleep, enhanced hormone regulation, etc.. allows us to track a higher foundational baseline of quality of life and the multidimensional wellness benefits that come from that better quality of life.
This is one of the key elements in our low-impact, low-intensity approach to fitness for women and why we include our signature FIT-Q’s every 4-6 weeks. Clients report major breakthroughs in their lives just from the FIT-Q’s alone…
